Animals

For the creatures to be categorized as animals in the world full of monsters and species created by magic, as well as intelligent races such as humans, dwarves, and elves, it takes certain conditions and prerequisites.

The first condition is that the creature has to be driven by pure instinct. If premeditation is too present, then the creature is too proficient to be tagged as a plain animal. If premeditation non-existent, then the creature must be considered a monster, incapable of ruling its primal drive.

The second condition is that the creature has to retain a close relation with any of the intelligent races. Otherwise, there would be no reason to bring it to a mention.

The third condition is that the creature must have been brought to life naturally and not by any form of summoning or enchantment; not by any expression of magic.

Therefore, animals are generally benevolent creatures, vying to show loyalty to their partners of intelligent race, but prone to making instinct-based decisions and reactions. Due to their predispositions, they are often being exploited or mastered, a role which they seldom reject or object to.
